Our office firmly believes in the importance of immunizing all children. As previously stated, we attempt to follow the official immunization schedule as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, endorsed by the American Academy of Pediatrics and legislated into law by the State of Texas. We will work with parents who need that little bit of “extra time” to get their children to full immunization status. We will not, however, accept children whose parents refuse to vaccinate their children. We simply cannot put our existing patients, who may be too young or immunocompromised, in jeopardy of contracting those infectious diseases prevented by immunization.
